“Who Else Would Like Their Teenager to Get More Organised, Study More Effectively, Reduce Anxiety, Cope With Stress … And Ultimately Have Their Results Reflect Their True Potential?”
Each new school term offers great potential … but it also brings many new distractions!
VCE/Educational Coaching teaches vital learning skills for success in the VCE.
These are focused individual sessions with an experienced psychologist who has postgraduate training and specific expertise in Educational & Developmental Psychology.
In these evidence-based sessions students learn how to:
- Recognise and overcome “self-sabotaging” behaviour
- Set challenging but achievable goals
- Get more organised with practical plans and schedules
- Find and increase motivation
- Minimise distractions
- Reduce anxiety and minimise stress
- Build resilience and coping skills
- Learn how to deal with setbacks
- Understand their own learning style and optimal study methods
- Improve test and exam skills
Research shows that students with these skills perform better, feel more in control and are less stressed.
Our approach is carefully tailored to each student, helping them to identify relevant goals and devise effective strategies to achieve each one.
But please keep in mind our small team only have a limited capacity to offer sessions in the peak after-school time slots.
So if you think VCE/Educational Coaching might be helpful for your son or daughter?
It’s important to make contact and secure your place as early as possible.
Where are we located?
Middle Park, or via Telehealth Sessions.
What times do we offer these sessions?
These 50 minute sessions are normally scheduled at 3pm, 4pm or 5pm on weekdays. We prioritise after-school times for our VCE clients when they are booked in advance.
How many sessions are required?
The program is tailored to individual needs, however we have an initial 6 week/session structure to help students quickly get on top of their most important challenges. After this, additional help and support during the VCE years is available as required.
What are the fees?
The current fee $310 for a 50 minute session.
Are there any rebates available?
Yes, a private health rebate may be applicable (please check with your fund if “counselling” with a psychologist is covered). A Medicare rebate is only applicable if a GP gives a referral for a mental health issue such as anxiety.
What is the next step?
The next step is to arrange a brief initial phone call with a psychologist.
We’ll answer any questions you might have and see if this is a good fit for your son or daughter’s needs.
